How to Squeeze Into Smaller Clothes
When you’re a big woman, it can seem as though the world is conspiring against you in making you look bad. You might have great fashion sense but there just isn’t that much in terms of style that fits a big lady. This is indeed unfortunate but as the saying goes if you can’t beat them, join them.
Although Hollywood is known to have unrealistic expectations for what women should look like, they do have some tricks for making a woman look thinner. Ideally, healthy, big-boned women should already have a positive self- image and these tricks are meant to accentuate curves while de-emphasizing the problem areas. These tricks really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody as they have been passed amongst women for centuries. Of course, back in those days, liposuction or any other type of cosmetic body reshaping surgery did not exist. They just relied on body slimming underwear for women such as corsets and waist cinchers.
Truth be known, the corsets and the other types of shapewear underwear hurt in those days. The first corsets were reinforced by iron and then later on by the more “flexible” material of whalebone. Needless to say, this doesn’t compare to the materials of Spandex and Lycra that modern shapewear is made from. Nowadays, our version of corsets and support underwear is much more comfortable but the same concept applies. It shapes the body into a svelte figure so your outer clothes will slip on smoothly.
By wearing shapewear, larger women can instantly become a few sizes smaller. Usually, bigger women tend to be rubenesque and while the undergarments will accentuate the curves, other more unforgiving parts such as body rolls will be reduced.
If you are a woman who cannot fit into fashionable but smaller clothing sizes, give shapewear a try. It just might open new wardrobe possibilities.
