Compaq cq 50-139wm Review – At WalMart

Compaq 15.1" Presario CQ50-139wm
List Price: $298
Compaq 15.1" screen, 2GB RAM, 2 Gigahertz AMD or Intel Celeron or an AMD Processor and a huge 5400 RPM 160 GB of hard disk.
If you're looking for a computer as a back up or something quick and simple to surf the Internet, check email or work on a Microsoft Office program while the kids take up your desktop computer, then you need to seriously look into the Compaq CQ 50-139wm. It's on sale at Wal-Mart starting Saturday, November the 8th for a measly $298.
Now if you expect to run PhotoShop or become the next greatest Gamer, save you money. This little laptop from Compaq just doesn't have the muscle or hardware to do that. But for the basic user, this should be plenty of laptop and the price is right!
It would also make a great gift for the High School or College bound Student. Plenty of hard drive space to keep all that homework stored in!
The Compaq CQ50-139wm also comes with a DVD player. Something many other laptops in this range won't have. It also comes with a built in Microphone. Other features include a wireless LAN and 3 USB ports.
Expect the 6 cell lithium battery to give you a back up of about 2 to 3 hours.
This unit goes on sale at Wal-Mart on Saturday. According to store flyers and Internet adds, each store will only have 10 units at this price, so you better get there early. Sale starts at 8 a.m.! Overall I'd give the Compaq CQ 50-139wm from WalMart at 7 simply because of the features you get for the price.

This is the perfect laptop for $300. My mom waited in line and got it
. It works pretty good, and has decent memory, graphics, and a nice bright screen.
I haven’t exactly tested out the speakers yet, but it looks somewhat promising.
BTW: Ran halo on this, worked out good. Had to of course lower the detail, since – this is intel integrated graphics… But come on, it ran Halo and it was actually pretty decent. – Texturing was supported, – haven’t tried particles yet.
The only complaint is the processor. Why not a Cellron M? Oh well. For the price, I finally have a computer!
