Christian Book Author Reviews – McDowell – Swindoll – Renner
"Paul" by Charles Swindoll
This book from Mr. Swindoll is on the life of Paul. I believe Paul to be the greatest of all of the NT apostles and this book gives you all of the
basic facts of this man's journey and adventure with the Lord. Again, there is much to learn from his story in the Lord and much we can incorporate
into our own personal walks and journeys with the Lord.
"David: A Man of Passion and Destiny" by Charles Swindoll
Revered as one of the greatest kings of Israel, King David's life is narrated by Mr. Swindoll in this book. God gave King David two of the highest compliments one could ever have: one is when He said that David was a man after His own heart. The other compliment is that David will obey God's will for his life. Aside from relating the main parts of the king's life, the author also tells how he ended up as one of the greatest saints in the OT.
"Handbook of Todays' Religions" by Josh McDowell Books
This reference book provides basic information on the major false religions and the different occult groups and the New Age Movement. Also described in this volume provides a wealth of information and knowledge on the other topics like atheism, Marxism and secular humanism. The book provides knowledge for people to be aware of the type of world we live in wherein people could easily fall prey to groups or ideas that could be demonic in nature.
"Sparkling Gems From the Greek" by Rick Renner
This book is best described as an excellent daily devotional material written by Rick Renner, one of the best teachers in the Body of Christ. This book tackles specific teachings for every single day of the week featuring some highly unique and powerful teachings. He attempts to translate words from the original Greek text that the New Testament was written in.
There are 365 days of devotions that are featured on this book, corresponding to the 365 days in a year. There are in-depth Greek word studies that allow readers to gain a deeper understanding on some specific words that were used in the Scriptural verses. The Bible simply encourages us to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and meditate of the various teachings and writings.
